Evaluation of 'Dress Rehearsal' in New Theatre

Doing a rehearsal in the New Theatre with Dance, Music, Musical Theatre and Theatre showed us how the play will run with eachother and gave us an idea of running time of the performance.

Our Performance:

Our performance went well, although I do believe we need to improve in some places. Our main problem was our songs. Although we dont actually sing that much it didn't go very well. We were all singin gin different tunes and were not in time, although we have worked on it a little, we need to fix that problem before performance. Another problem was the lack of concentration between us all, including myself. During people's individual performance, we were laughing or talking, this meant the entire peice suffered. We all need to stop this and concentrate more during rehearsals not just for performing. We also need to have a little more practise with lines and stage directions as throughout people mad emistakes about where they needed to be or what they needed to be doing. These are the main points that need working on befire our final performance.

A lot of things went well, we were shown how we would be entering the stage after the first Theatre performance, this beginning to our peice works really well and would be an understandable beggining to our peice for the 'Little People'. Other strands have also got peices that meet the criteria of 'A performance for children between the ages of 2-5' for example Musical Theatre's clean the kitchen peice wass very inventive and funny to both audiences of the Little People and performers.

A personal thing did not go as well, my perfromance as the Mum I belived to be a little boring as other strands had given the mum a much better look. I am looking to improve both my vocal and physical look to make myself fit the part better. Other Strands also need to work on meeting the criteria, Dance, in my opinion, wasn't a dance for a young audience. It was a little sexualised but was still very good, just not for 2-5 year olds.

Overal the 'Dress Rehersal' went very well as it showed us exactly what my group need to work on to improve our peice and make it the best experience we can.
